Endorsement for County Commissioner

The Perry County Democrats, at their October 17th meeting, voted unanimously to endorse Candidate Karen Anderson as clearly the most qualified candidate for Perry County Commissioner in the upcoming November election.

The owner and operator of Meadow Mist Farm, a producer of grass-fed beef, Anderson is a former 3-term West Perry School District school director; the founder and chair of Perry County Voices, a community action group; and a member of the Perry County Farm Bureau, Senator DiSanto’s Citizen Agriculture Committee, and the Penn State Extension Council.

Married to husband, Tim, for 40 years and the mother of two children who attended West Perry schools, Karen earned a Bachelors degree from Penn State University in Landscape Architecture, has worked at Perry Village Nursing Home and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and was a Peace Corp volunteer in Ecuador. Her father was an Army Colonel with 31 years of service.

Karen has regularly attended Commissioner Meetings for over two years and is knowledgeable about most county issues, including our problematic fiscal situation. She will come to the Board well-prepared to work together with all of the commissioners to serve the citizens of Perry County. Please remember to vote Nov. 5!
